Google has launched the much awaited successor in its nexus series of smartphones – the new Google Nexus 6 . It sports a huge 6-inch (5.96-inch , precisely) touchscreen display with Quad HD resolution (4 times HD) (there are only few smartphones in the market with this resolution , namely Samsung Galaxy Note 4, LG G3, & Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro ). This is a big upgrade in display from the 5-inch Full HD display of its predecessor Nexus 5.
It is loaded with the Android v5.0 Lollipop OS , the first device to have this upcoming version of Google Android OS. It is powered by Quad core 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor along with Adreno 420 GPU and 3GB RAM. It now sports a 13MP rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) , Dual LED ring flash,  f/2.0 aperture, and 4K video recording at 30fps. The build quality is premium with metallic sides and rubberised finish back panel but instead of decrease in the thickness in comparison to its predecessor , the new Nexus 6 is more thick with 10.06mm of thickness (yes , all other company’s flagship smartphones are quite slim). With somewhat similar specs (16MP OIS camera/5.7″ Quad HD display/same size battery) and key competitor smartphone Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is only 8.5mm thick . This years Nexus smartphone is built by Motorola and will be available in two colors of Midnight Blue and Cloud White.
On connectivity front , it is a single SIM (nano) smartphone with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, and quad band 2G network connectivity (although Indian 4G LTE band 40 is not listed in its specs :|). It comes with the latest wireless LAN Wi-Fi  ac 2×2 (MIMO) support for high data transfer rate in the local network. It has the latest Bluetooth v4.1 module and NFC in-built. It is powered by a high capacity 3220 mAh battery which will give over 24 hours of use from a full charge. Also the battery usage is more optimized in the new Android v5.0 Lollipop and with Turbo charger that features Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology you can get up to 6 hours of use from only 15 minutes of charging.
Android v5.0 brings new user interface design called Material with fluid, purposeful motion.It has now organized notifications with priority notifications settings , notifications will now show up on the lock screen (like in iOS/iPhone), and the Heads Up feature that will launch a pop-up dialogue box for your most important notifications. The new OS now also enables users to unlock their smartphone with Bluetooth via trusted Bluetooth paired devices.
